JPL, NASA's leader department in robotic space exploration; sending rovers to Mars, probes into the farthest reaches of the solar system, and satellites with one goal: advance understanding of our home planet Earth.

In 2023, Garage Stories is collaborating with NASA JPL to launching its first targeted call for creatives all over the US to come up with innovative narratives, formats and distribution strategies to engage society at large.
​
The goal is to use JPL knowledge to generate awe and sparks imaginations at massive scale and with real societal impact to catalyze a global community to share compelling stories about space and Earth exploration that are synonymous with the future of humanity.

Applications are open from October 9th to

PARTICIPANTS
Creatives from all over the US: designers, coders, new media, storytellers... Focus on diversity.

The program will run from November 6th - December 6th via online masterclasses and work sessions.

Timeline of the program:
One-month online program between November 6th till December 6th where 15 US based selected creators will be formed into teams of 3 people. Teams will work remotely following Garage Stories' methodology to come up with innovative narratives, formats and distribution strategies to talk about relevant topics.

They will also count on the support of NASA scientists to help with relevant information and data to design their project. At the end of the program, only one team will be selected to visit and present their idea at JPL's center in Los Angeles.

Kick-off session for teams to meet each other, the team and discuss the details of the initial program.
November 8th_ Meeting with NASA Scientists (90 min)
Session for teams to learn more about JPL's work regarding Earth Science and discuss the challenge with NASA Scientists.

final pitch
Teams will have 10 minutes to deliver their final pitch with a selected group of JPL at NASA. One project will be selected as the winner.

APPLY
The program, lead by Garage Stories in collaboration with NASA JPL, is aimed at creatives all across the US.
​
We are looking for people from very diverse backgrounds, ages, and skills, but mostly new media artists, designers, writers, coders, etc.
​
Applications are individuals, and selected participants (15) will be formed into teams to bring people with different skills and backgrounds but similar visions and motivations together.
​
